Recognition of Prior Learning in Higher Education Conference
The final conference for the Recognition of Prior Learning in Practice (RPLip) project took place on 16 March, 2021. Don't worry if you missed it - here you can find links to videos from the conference as well as other RPLip materials.
What was the Recognition of Prior Learning in Higher Education conference about?
Validation (RPL) practitioners working in teaching, learning, research, policy or management and individuals working at a higher education institution, ministry, national agency or quality assurance agency were invited to participate in the EPLip project conference.
Project participants discussed what they'd learned about the successful implementation of RPL in higher education. Among other things, the programme focused on:
- going beyond your role as an individual champion in promoting a strategic, connected and committed institution
- creating a validation-friendly system, from learning outcomes to guidelines and procedures that build on transparent phases - all through identification, documentation and assessment
- enabling effective peer learning
Across Europe, HEIs are focused on contributing to life-long learning in service to their communities and regions. As a part of European, national, and institutional responses, RPL is an essential tool that meets the needs of citizens by supporting flexible learning paths.
Nobody should be required to study something they already know!
