Registering for the Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test

The Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test is offered twice a year and is open to everyone. The test results can be used for applying to higher education; around one-third of people admitted to higher education in Sweden are accepted on the basis of their test results.

The Swedish Council for Higher Education owns and administers the Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test’s two websites:

  • Högskoleprov.nu (registration) where people taking the test register and pay the necessary fee
  • HP-admin where officers at the higher education institutions (HEIs) administer rooms, staff and candidates, as well as send notifications of placement to staff and information to candidates

Representatives from HEIs are included in an administrative council that helps system managers to prioritise administrative measures.
