The grades database (BEDA)
BEDA is a transport register that collects final grades from upper-secondary schools and upper-secondary level adult education for forwarding to the NyA admissions system and to Statistics Sweden.
The Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) handles both the operational and technical administration of BEDA, i.e. everything from requirements coordination to development. Upper-secondary schools do not pay to be linked to BEDA, nor are they part of an administrative council, which is otherwise usual for UHR’s systems.
UHR is the system owner and Systems Administration (Systemförvaltning) is responsible for the entire technical administration.
BEDA collects final grades from upper-secondary schools and then forwards them to admissions systems for higher education. Additionally, final grades and transcripts of all secondary-level courses and grades are delivered to Statistics Sweden for statistical processing for the National Agency for Education (Skolverket).
