Project resources

Looking for resources regarding recognition of prior learning? You've come to the right place! We've gathered a variety of different materials from the RPL project.

RPL information leaflet

Are you looking for a short description of the validation process? Or maybe you want to talk about validation with your colleagues. The RPLip project has developed a leaflet with the following information about RPL:

  • a short description of the validation process
  • examples of the fundamental building blocks necessary to establish a quality-assured validation process
  • a description of the four phases of validation with examples of what should be in place

You can use it as an information leaflet or even as the basis for discussion. The general overview it provides can be adopted to a national or institutional context.

Project survey on RPL

The project ran a survey in 2019-2020 which mapped HEIs' experience and views on the recognition of informal and non-formal learning. The response rate wasn’t very high; however, the results did give a good indication of where the challenges are in recognising prior informal and non-formal learning.

Self-assessment template

The project developed a template for HEIs designed for the self-assessment of an institution’s own RPL practice. It can also be used as a starting point for focused discussion about RPL within the institution.
