Can excellence be acheived in homogeneous student groups

In 2014 The Swedish Council for Higher Education were assigned from the Swedish government to map the work done by the HEI´s in Sweden on widened participation. This report is the first result from the work and shows an impressive amount of work put in to this area by the HEI´s and the Councils conclusions and recommendations on how to improve and follow up for a clearer result.
The Swedish Council for Higher Education is responsible for facilitating the Higher Education Institutions work with widening participation, encouraging the interest for studies on an academic level, counteracting discrimination on all grounds and facilitating equal rights and opportunities within higher education.
In 2014 The Swedish Council for Higher Education were assigned from the Swedish government to map the work done by the HEI´s in Sweden on widened participation. The government aim is that people with the ability and the interest to study at university level, should not be stopped by obstacles concerning lack of academic background, disabilities or other irrelevant issues.
